Our journey: Trio Mariachi in Orange County
Trio Mariachi Capri traces its roots back to the mid-90s in Santa Ana, California, where it began as a family duo. Roberto, the patriarch, led with the requinto and vocals, while his eldest son provided backup vocals and rhythm guitar. Their early performances started at El Ranchito in Newport Beach, CA, marking the beginning of their musical journey. With my addition on guitar (Richard), the duo evolved into a trio. Our time at El Ranchito holds cherished memories, but as our tenure there neared its end, we secured a regular spot at Tortilla Jo's in downtown Disney, where we performed five days a week. Unfortunately, the aftermath of 9/11 led to a decline in clientele, prompting our transition to private events, which has since been our mainstay. Our Mariachi services in Orange County extend to the local area and beyond, serving various events and venues. My Brother is no longer playing with us.
Our sound
We're a 3-piece mariachi band in Orange County, offering a mix of popular rancheras, boleros, huapangos, and cumbia songs. While we call Orange County home, our music travels to LA and Riverside Counties as well. Our goal is simple: bring the essence of mariachi to life with authentic music that spans different styles. Whether it's the rhythmic charm of rancheras, the romantic touch of boleros, the upbeat feel of huapangos, or the lively sounds of cumbias, our repertoire is diverse.
